Creating Quirky Unique And Different

I started out in 2018 creating different crafts and homewares. I wanted to create something different by re using materials and recycling. I had a few ideas and decided to try them at some local markets.

They went well, but it still wasn’t quite what I had intended. Then I came across a basket of old Dried Gourds at my mums house while cleaning up. She had them on top of her fridge for years, collecting dust and I had asked her a few times, “ What are you doing with these things mum, lets get rid of them!”

“No, their my gourds, leave them there. You know you can do all sorts of things with them, like crafty stuff”

And so I began googling and finding something I could do with these hollow, weird shaped “dried pumpkins”

Viola! The Chicken Gourds were born and over the last few years I have gotten more creative with them. I have to say she was right and I thoroughly enjoy making some dirty mouldy old pumpkin into the quirkiest funniest weirdest thing that makes everyone smile & chuckle when they see them.
